
Hughes Receives Fulbright Award to Visit Ireland
University of West Georgia graduate student Hailey Hughes has received a Fulbright U.S. Student Program award to Ireland in creative writing from the U.S. Department of State and the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board. Hughes will study creative writing at University College Cork as part of a project to study creative nonfiction and create a transatlantic storytelling group for able-bodied and disabled communities.

UWG named Tree Campus USA for seventh year in row
The University of West Georgia has been named a Tree Campus USA honoree for the seventh consecutive year.

Prominent Historian, Professor Emeritus Establishes Lecture Series
The University of West Georgia College of Arts and Humanities (COAH) recently announced the establishment of the John Ferling Distinguished Lecture Series in United States History. It is the first endowed speaker series for the college and is named for one of the country's most prominent and celebrated American Revolution historians.
