
UWG Hosts Regional Debate Teams
The University of West Georgia recently hosted more than 20 debate teams representing six schools: UGA, Georgia State, Samford, Florida State University, University of Florida and UWG. Teams spent the day debating each other in four rounds. This season's resolutions is "The United States Federal Government should establish a domestic climate policy, including at least substantially increasing restrictions on private sector emissions of greenhouse gases in the United States."

Homeruns Bring Home the Bacon: "Hometown Teams" Workshop Helps Teachers Link Sports and Economics
Everyone knows that students will pay attention to news about their favorite sports teams or favorite athletes. Teachers may wish they garnered that same level of attention from students in their classrooms. Well, local teachers had the opportunity to learn just how to do that with the help of the Georgia Council on Economic Education (GCEE), Georgia Humanities, the University of West Georgia's Center for Economic Education (CEE) and Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB) during a workshop aimed at giving teachers the tools they need to educate students.

Congress Comes to UWG: UWG Honors Westmoreland for Donation of Congressional Papers
The University of West Georgia hosted a celebration Tuesday, Nov. 29, to officially accept U.S. Rep. Lynn Westmoreland’s (R-Ga) congressional papers into Ingram Library’s special collections.
