Associate Director of Programs

Biography

I am a two-time graduate of Valdosta State University, receiving my B.S. in Psychology in 2011 and my M.S in Clinical Counseling in 2013. I have over 8 years’ professional experience in Higher Education, including program development, staff development/management, and marketing. My previous roles included Event Reservations Coordinator, Health Educator and Assistant Director of Campus Recreation, all at VSU. I left VSU after 12 years to accept my dream job as Associate Director of Programs for UWG University Recreation! My journey to College Recreation happened purely by accident, but I am thankful for this opportunity Recreation has given me as I have found my true passion and calling! Campus Recreation has given me the opportunity to reach students on a larger scale and educate them on healthy living and overall wellness. To see the direct impact that our roles have on college campuses is truly amazing! I currently serve as the Media and Marketing Coordinator for the Georgia Recreation and Sports Association (GRSA), served as the Host School Representative for GRSA 2018 at Valdosta State University, and I also serve as a NIRSA mentor.

In my free time, I enjoy running (distances ranging from 5k to Marathon), hiking, reading, teaching and practicing yoga, and spending quality time with my husband, Johnny, and our two fur-children, Oreo & Major.
