The University Writing Center (UWC) exists to assist individuals within the UWG community in their pursuit to become better writers, thinkers, and scholars. We advocate that writers benefit from collaboration with others. Our consultants—English faculty and graduate students—approach sessions with the desire to help develop the writer first. There is no such thing as a “bad” writer; rather, we believe that all writers, even the best ones, can clarify their thinking and improve their communication.
The University Writing Center (UWC) exists to strengthen and empower the writing of all members of the UWG campus community. Our Center cultivates an inclusive environment where any individual, regardless of race, socioeconomic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, ability, and age, can grow and thrive as a writer. We diligently strive to recognize literacies of all writers and to work collaboratively with them so their voices can be heard.
